We stayed here for a couple nights, in mid-May, for the proximity to Piódão. Our hotel “superior double room with city views” had superb views of Piódão, a traditional village built entirely of dark slate, with bright blue windows and doors, and a white church. This was also a convenient base for a mountainous loop road-trip through Serra da Estrela Natural Park with lunch at Manteigas. I liked the hotel atmosphere – It’s a sturdy lodge building with nice old wood floors, and interesting local artwork scattered around the property. Staff were very friendly and helpful. In mid-May, the mountains were full of wildflowers; the drives to and from Piódão took us through mountains full of yellow broom, purple lavenders, and red poppies.

Excellent, well maintained hotel, perfectly positioned opposite the magical village of Piódão. Professional, courteous staff who went the extra mile to fulfil our varying dietary needs. The pool was clean and a great size and temperature for swimming laps. A huge thank you to Alexandra Vieira on reception who kindly arranged our onward transport as we did not have a car and it is impossible to use Bolt/Uber in this area as we discovered!

so glad we decided to stay in this hotel! the staff were all so kind and welcoming. we were visiting during the quiet season i think, because there were hardly any other tourists at our hotel, which i personally enjoyed! the room was large with amazing views of the city. check in process was easy, breakfast was good, and the location overlooks the town on the top of the hill and is a 1-2 minute drive down the hill, so very convenient!

We felt like we were in a castle, on top of the hill, with a beautiful view of the village. I loved the walk down the trail to the village. It was raining, but it ended up giving it a special touch, a magical atmosphere. There was a live music performance after dinner, the performers were excellent and it was so much fun to share the night with guests. Great breakfast. Our bedroom and bathroom were spacious and comfortable.

breakfast was nice, many choices the place is exeptional the small village Piodao is something really worth seeing The hotel is beutiful, little retro - style (the bathroom and the pool) but comfortable, very nice design the prices very reasonable for family the staff very helpful we can recommend it it was great stay I think it's the best option to stay in Piodao
